Public speaking is intimidating but often a requirement of life whether it be a school presentation or an interview. I think that public speaking is intimidating because most of us hadn't actually been taught how to it. I want to teach people the ins and outs of public speaking so that they can have the confidence to do it when it is called for. Public speaking is even used throughout the cosplay and convention communities for panels, meet ups, stage descriptions, and even pre-judging.
I did Speech and Debate in high school and had a talent for public speaking since a young age. This panel will cover the basics on movement and hand positions, volume and tone, enunciation vs. pronunciation, etc.
Panel description for the public:
Public speaking is often expected of us despite not being taught as a fundamental skill. Since it is required of us throughout different sectors of our lives, there's no reason it should be intimidating. This panel will help you conquer public speaking by covering what skills you should practice as well as some hacks to make your public speaking stand out!
Like knitting or Crocheting? Join us to do just that. Stay for a little while or stay the whole time. Bring your own stuff or use the things provided. No obligations. Just yarn and chill.

From the farthest reaches of outer space to the deepest realms of fantasy, fiction has the unique power to reshape reality entirely. What does it take to build a universe, in which LGBTQ+ identities don't just exist, they actively shape the magic systems, political structures, culture, and technology?
Join us for our dynamic panel featuring four sci-fi and fantasy authors, as we discuss the art of inclusive world-building. We’ll dive into how we dismantle heteronormative tropes, weave authentic queer representation into our lore, and craft expansive new worlds that offer refuge, revolution, and even a mirror to queer readers. Whether you are a writer looking to deepen your own world-building, or a fan eager to celebrate diverse storytelling, come explore how we can radically reimagine the future, the past, and everything in between.
